Introduction to Content Design and Development

Part 1

I learned many things about content design and development like that there are three types of interactive media consumers, passive viewer, active user, and participant. A passive viewer is when you're watching something but you're only partially paying attention to it, you're more so using it for background noises and look at the tv here and there. An active user is someone that's actually interacting. Lastly a participant is someone who's active with analyzing the content. They also talk about the difference in digital interactivity back then vs now and how before computers were more so made and used for typing text prompts but now, we have the internet and images, icons, buttons, menus, and we also have things like touch screens, voice activation, 3D images, motion capture, and much more. I also learned a few new terms like Integration which is the act of forming, coordinating, or blending into a functioning. I also learned what open source is, it describes software, and the original code is free access and can be redistributes with or without modifying it. They also talked about cloud computing along with Adobe which consists of a lot of the programs we use in our class like flash catalyst, Dreamweaver, photoshop, illustrator and so on, Windows and what applications are available to what computers.

Part 2

To be quite honest I'm very interested in all three areas, UIX design, content design, and content development. I think I really like all of them because I've always had a creative eye ever since I was little so anything that involved design and the arts just catches my attention immediately but if I had to choose one, I think I would choose content design just because it's something that I'm more familiar with! I think that I could use this in the project that we're actually working on by creating posts and making then aesthetically pleasing and design my page in a way that expresses what content I'm going to be posting.
