Chapter 1: Participatory Culture
1. What is your experience of the culture you participate in?
I feel that in anything that I involve myself in I try my very best to always be involved, not only participate but also share the practices and culture so overall I'd say my experience of the culture I participate in is very positive. One of my roles in the social media world is I think making myself accessible to those in need, whether someones having a bad day, having a panic attack, having any inconvenience I make sure that I make it known that I'm available to the public if needed.
2. How does this impact your personal valuing and artistic focus?
I think that when it comes to me myself personally being involved in something it defenitley has to be something that I believe and support and 100% stand by so I think with that just already being something big that I focus on prior to engaging to a certain culture it doesn't really impact my personal values, personally if it impacted them in a negative way I'd probably not be interested in being involved. As for my artistic focus, I think that in anything that I and anyone does there's always an artistic aspect involved and for me I have a very broad artistic interest so it's not easily impacted in a negative way.
3. Building on this insight, how can you expand your participation in shared ethical creative practice?
I think that a way that I could expand my participation in shared ethical creative practice is doing deeper digging and learn more about the culture and practice and communicate, make connections as well as contribute and share the practices. Going off of what I mentioned in question number one I think that some ways I could expand my participation in helping people and being a good support system for those who are in need is giving out more resources, maybe making a specific page for it and having numbers and contact information available to them and so on.
After reading your post, I definitely agree with you on the importance of making sure that you can be a good support system for others. I like how you brought up that you not only try your best to be involved in everything you are a part of, but that you also share your practices and culture. Putting your voice out into the world can be very beneficial, as people can learn more about what other's life experiences have been like.
ReplyDeleteI love that you make an effort to go out of your way to help out others and put a smile on their face.
