Digital Media and Planning and Managing a Project

Digital Media:

After reading about Digital Media I learned a to of things like certain digital media certifications which include web, print, and, video. They also have ACA which is an Adobe Certified Associate as well as AC which is Adobe Certified Expert. Then they go into behaviors you can incorporate to have a good job and good growth in which ever field you go into. They mention having good attendance is very important as well as promptness, proper attire, clean and safe work environment, appropriate voice, and pride. They also talk about managing files and how its important to name files and how to save them as well as picking what storage you use. The next thing I learned about was making backups. The powerpoint mentions how its important to backup your work so that you don't lose files and all your hard work that you put into things. The next category was personal security, the powerpoint taught me about cyber predators, social engineering, and keylogger which is a software that tracks your keyboard use and transmits it so that it's used for illegal purposes. Next I learned about computer safety, password security and they talked about phishing and how that's a social engineering activity where people use fake websites or/and emails to get peoples information. I also learned about hardware security, acceptable use policy, which are agreements that users have to agree to when using the systems. Next I learned about avoiding repetitive stress injury and creating affective work stations as well as informing people about who's responsible for ensuring our safety when at a job site. The powerpoint also mentions that its very important to take breaks, to allow yourself to recharge and stretch, rest your eyes, and so on. Lastly the slides taught me about key concepts and the commitments to learning are being flexible, keeping an open mind, using initiative, listing and reading attentively, seeking to acquire new knowledge and skills. 

Planning and Managing a Project:

When reading through the powerpoint on planning and managing a project there was a lot I already knew just because I had a project management class and was a project management student consultant but there still was a lot that I learned! Some of the key things that are up project management is having a goal, an objective, resources, budgeting, having timelines and making deliverables. The powerpoint also provided a few softwares that would be useful in project managing like the the cloud, and having that extra storage as well as Huddle which is also a storage tool like the Cloud. It also mentions Microsoft Project, Microsoft  SharePoint and Bamboo Project Management Suite which is used to automate and manage notifications to people you are working with as well as scheduling tools and presentations tools. I also learned about the developing phases of a project and so forth so overall there the powerpoint was really helpful to give me that refresher that I needed as well as providing me with additional helpful sources I can use for project managing.

Overall I feel like Ive used a lot of Digital Media in this class for our projects especially for the Voter Scholarship submission. As for Managing a Project I think that I used that a lot in this class as well but also in one of my business classes I took this semester where I worked with a client first hand as a project manager consultant!
